With several over the top commitments being made like construction of national pride Projects in 2 yrs...some of the more absurd ones are just lies in your face type of promises... The government is taking actions without any study or feasibility or cost benefit analysis...whether it be taking action on Oli or former hm in just few hours after taking office after lol going through gauri Bahadur karkis long report or actions like these...on boosting economy or ensuring fair competition... Without any study or proper planning they are hitting the brick wall everywhere... On April 13 2026, the Department of Commerce issued a sudden directive...yo ta I don't think even it was mentioned anywhere in their bachapatra or 100 point plan... Effective on April 28....no imported finished goods would be cleared through customs unless every single item had a Maximum Retail Price label physically attached to it... While the policy was legally backed by the Consumer Protection Act of 2018 to ensure market transparency and protect buyers from price gouging ( it is one of the ways where when markets are unregulated prices tend to be out of control) enforcing it abruptly at the border proved to be a logistical nightmare... Importers immediately protested arguing that it is physically impossible and highly risky to unpack bulk cargo containers at busy border points just to manually stick labels on thousands of individual products... In protest of the sudden enforcement...traders completely halted the customs clearance process... Over 1,000 cargo containers were stranded at the border effectively paralyzing the country's supply chain and halting the flow of goods into the market... Because the government relies heavily on daily border trade for a massive portion of its operating revenue...the strike immediately caused a severe financial hit to the national treasury... And it showed up in their wallets... Facing a crippling loss of daily income and immense pressure from the organized business community...the government was forced to retreat just a few weeks later in the first week of May... They agreed to a compromise with the importers... Businesses can now bypass the physical border labeling by submitting a self-declaration of the MRP on paper for customs clearance... The importers promised to physically attach the actual stickers to the products once the goods were safely transported to their own warehouses in the cities... people don't understand by meddling with Nepals delicate supply chain...esko ramifications as well which could have been extreme if it had been prolonged...esko asar economy and general ppl le vogi Pani sakeyko Cha which most ppl are unaware...it directly affects every consumers pockets if prolonged inflation would have gone through the roofs... People are like what the hell just happened...with zero consultation or coordination from stake holders or even basic policy hearing...at worst times possible as well in the cupst of oil crisis and inflation...it was done in worst possible times you can imagine without monsoon in the corner as well where every year it is the time where inflation usually spikes in Nepal... these actions were taken and just how it was introduced it was backtracked as well...no clarity given... What is worse is the government has taken zero accountability na it is discussed at the parliament which was called at one date later it was killed and called off just to issue ordinances...na kehi press releases, justification or statement from the pm as well like there is no pm in the country... na kehi hearing or discussion jyamma action pachi regret...Zero accountability or transparency...
